General nursing & Midwifery

Basic Overview & Credentials

This course stretches to three and a half years of education combined with practical on-hands training. The course will be able to prepare the student to be a general nurse who will be able to assist the community and hospitals for various needs. There is a sanctioned capacity of 60 for this course.

Approvals and Recognition

  •  Recognized by : Government of Karnataka, Karnataka Nursing Council, Indian Nursing Council and Karnataka state diploma in nursing education Board.

 

Eligibility for Admission

  •  Pass in PUC / PDC / 10+2 or any equivalent examination. Must have completed 17 years of age by 31st August of the year of admission.

First Year

  1. Biological Science (Anatomy & Physiology and Microbiology)
  2. Behavioural Science (Psychology and Sociology)
  3. Fundamentals of Nursing
  4. Community Health Nursing
  5. English

Second Year

  1. Medical Surgical Nursing – I (Includes Pharmacology)
  2. Medical Surgical Nursing – II (Specialities)
  3. Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing
  4. Computer Education

Third Year

  1. Midwifery and Gynaecology
  2. Community Health Nursing II
  3. Paediatric Nursing
